General information

Population: deserted

It is located on the North of "Extremadura" and in the east of the province "Las Hurdes", between 40°18´ latitude north and 6°19´ latitude west and 640 m. above the sea-level.

The village is quite difficult to reach. We take the Ex-204 from both directions, from "Salamanca" or from "Coria" and at the height of "Caminomorisco" take the road to "Casar de Palomero". 3 km ahead of "La Aceña" we have to continue our trip on foot to reach the rests of the village.

As we know from Pascual Mondoz, who wrote in 1846, the village is composed of 11 low little houses of one floor only.

Its terrain is mountainous, rough, and full of gorges of which only the margins are cultivated with linen, castanets, cherries as well as with other fruits and vegetables.
