Population: 181


It is located in the North of "Extremadura" in the province of "Caceres" and the region " Las Hurdes", between 40°24´ latitude north and 6°24´ latitude west and 780 m. above the sea-level.


The access is quite easy by the road Ex- 204 in both senses, coming from "Coria" as well from "Salamanca". Once you arrive to "Vegas de Coria" take the direction "Nuñomoral" and following the deviation to "Fragosa", we will get to "El Gasco".


Multiple rests and engravings from the Bronze- Age have been found in the village.

There are also some caves which are supposed to have been inhabited by people in the Bronze- Age.

What to visit


The main attractive of the zone is a water fall called "Chorro de la Miacera". It is a spectacular cascade with different levels near to the village. There is a well indicated path to get there.

Free time

The visitor can do some activities as wandering and others related with the appreciation of the nature.

The visitor can have some drinks in the different pubs in the village.

Artesian works

There are some artisan work made in stone, like small houses with the same form as the houses in the village.

They also use volcanic stones to make pipes, called "Cachimbas" there.

There are also some works made in wood as banks and different adornments.

Bath zone

The visitor can take a bath in the natural swimming pool by the river and near the bridge.
