Location

It is located in the North of the province "Caceres" and on the South- east of " Las Hurdes" on the border with the province "Salamanca". It is located between 40°27´latitude north and 2°33´longitude east and 670 m. above the see-level.

Access

You can access by the road Ex-204 in two points: using the deviation at "Vegas de Coria" direction "Nuñomoral", "Casares de Hurdes" (Ex-368), going through "Ladrillar" or taking the deviation to the road Ex- 366 before coming to "Riomalo de Abajo" direction "Ladrillar" and 3 Km. before the deviation.

History

This town was very important in the past, being the birth-place of some famous people like Antonio Marcos, who during the XVIII century was the captain in many battles in the region and delegate of the marquis Marques de la Romana.

What to visit

Places

We recommend to visit the old part of the town with the typical houses and also the church.

As well as the surroundings of the town, where the visitant can see rest of old farm houses, and the factory created by the King Alfonso XIII.

Artesian works

The star product in the town is "Ciripolen", a natural combination with honey to recover they energy.

There are also some artisan works, like embroidery and osier-baskets and wood-works, but mainly just for the private use of the population of the town.
