Ingredients for 4 persons:

  • 4 fishes
  • 3 dried peppers
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Vinegar
  • Oil
  • Black pepper
  • 1 litre water
  • Garlic
  • Laurel
  • Salt
  • Bread
  • A glass of water

Preparation:

Wash the fish removing the heads and do some fine cuts on their backs. Boil some water in a pot adding some vinegar, oil, black pepper, laurel, garlic, the dried peppers cut in pieces and some salt. Let it cook for a while.

Add then the fishes, some salt and later on the tomatoes, also cut in small pieces, to get a thick sauce.

Get them from the flame once they are enough cooked and serve them in a large dish, preferably a earthenware. Decorate the dish with some bread slices, if possible from the previous day, placing them on the bottom of the dish like a kind of base for the fishes and the sauce.
