General information

Population: 96


It is located in the North of “Extremadura” and on the South- east of the region” Las Hurdes“. It is located between 40°18´ latitude north and 6°28´longitude east and 440 m. above the see-level.


The access is quite easy by the road Ex-204 in both directions, coming from “Coria“ or “Salamanca“. Go through “Pinofranqueado“ and take the direction going to “Robledo“ and “Aldehuela“.


It is not very old. Some dates make us think that at the very beginning it was just a hut for the shepherds, extending then along the river “Esperaban“.

During the last years the population of this village, as well as in the others ´, has being decreasing very fast.

What to visit


We recommend to visit the vegetable-gardens surrounding the town, walk on the roads along the river and visit the bridges and the rest of the mills by the river.

To get inform about the activities go to the „Centro de Documentacion“ ( Centre of documentation).

Where to eat & sleep

The visitor can have some drinks in the pub in town.

Artesian works

There are no more artisans in the town.

Nowadays we can only find artisan work in wood and osier for the private use in town.

Bath zone

To take a bath, go to the natural swimming pools in “Pinofranqueado“ and „Caminomorisco“ or to the river in town.
