General information

It is located in the North of "Extremadura" and on the west of the region" Las Hurdes" and between 40°18´latitude north and 6°28´longitude east and 490 m. above the see-level.


The access is quite easy by the road Ex-204 in both directions, coming from "Coria" or "Salamanca". Then take the deviation going to "Salamanca" 4 Km. before arriving to "Pinofranqueado".


It is one of the oldest town in the region. The oldest text with the name of the village on it is from the XI century. In its surrounding there are still some rest of the Romans , who used to call the place "Otulia" or "Vitulia".

What to visit


We recommend to visit the old town with houses following the typical architecture, walk and enjoy the silence and peace of the town.

The visit of the bridges and the river could also be interesting. The monastery of the angles "Monasterio de los Angeles" is one of the nicest in all the region.

Free time

We recommend to wander or practise some kind of activity in the nature. For further activities contact the Centre of documentation in town.
