General information

Population: 144


It is located in the North of "Extremadura" and on the South of the region" Las Hurdes", between 40°17´ latitude north and 7°22´ latitude west and 450 m. above the sea-level.


There are two ways to access the town. One by the road Ex-204, taking the deviation at "Caminomorisco" to direction "Casar de Palomero" ( Ex-269) and the other by the road Ex-204, taking the deviation at "Pinofranqueado" direction "Azabal" (CCV-110).

Another option is to take the road from "Plasencia" to "Casar de Palomero" and then continue down the road. The last option is coming from "Plasencia", going by "La Pesca" (CCV-64) direction "Casar de Palomero".


There are important prehistoric rests in the surroundings of the village, including engravings and gold mines.

The population of the village, like in others, is decreasing very fast.

What to visit


We invite the visitor to walk through the old, narrow streets of the town and see the traditional architecture of its buildings. He can also have a walk and admire the lovely landscape formed by the river and the surrounding nature.

Free time

Fishing can be practised in the river that crosses the village. For further information about other activities visit the House of Culture.

The visitor can have some drinks in the different pubs in town.

Artesian works

There are no more artisan workers at the present.

The only artisan works done in town ( in wood and osier) are for the private use of the population in town.

Bath zone

The visitor can have a bath in the river "Rio de los Angeles" which crosses the town.
